Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo offers apology to President,NPP leadership for 2022 absence

 


Dome-Kwabenya, Greater Accra – Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Ms. Sarah Adwoa Safo, has issued an unreserved apology to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other party officials for her conduct in 2022.

Ms. Safo's absence from Parliament for over a year in 2022 led to her appearance before the Privileges Committee of Parliament and calls for her seat to be declared vacant. In a viral video, she attributed her prolonged absence to personal and family issues.

During her apology, she expressed regret for her behaviour and stated that it was not her intention to disrespect anyone. She cited personal and family issues as the reasons for her conduct during that period.

Ms. Safo extended her apology to various party members and officials, including the Chief of Staff, Honourable Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu, colleague MPs, the Majority caucus, regional executives, constituency executives, the NPP headquarters, the General Secretary, National Chairman, supporters, sympathizers, and constituents.

She appealed for forgiveness from all those who love the party and her, expressing her hope for reconciliation and understanding.
